Imagine switching water for crisp, fresh powder snow – that's exactly what you'll experience on our new ‘Water2Snow’ course on the Wasserkuppe.

In just one day, we'll show you how to transfer your kiteboarding skills from the water to the snow. You'll get a feel for flying with mats and foil kites, learn how to launch and land them safely, and discover the little tricks that make all the difference in the snow. Whether you're on skis or a snowboard, we'll take you out into the terrain, give you a feel for the wind and weather up here, and show you how awesome snowkiting on the Wasserkuppe can be.

Course content

The Water2Snow course consists of three practical lessons in which we teach you the basics of snowkiting and the differences between snowkiting and kitesurfing.

• Introduction to mat flying / foil kite handling: setting up, launching and landing a foil kite, light wind flying technique
• Special features when using a tube kite in the snow
• Choosing the right equipment for snowkiting
• Special features of snowkiting spots:
• Riding in the terrain, wind and weather Riding on skis or a snowboard
• Turning, jibing and other manoeuvres, if applicable
