The Midland XT60 is a complete package of PMR446/LPD combination devices that includes two devices, two 700mAh battery packs (NiMh), a dual-stand charger and a USB charging cable (without mains adapter!).
The equipment contains the most important functions and operation is simple and logical, even for beginners. The USB charging option is a nice extra, as the USB standard is now very widespread and devices can be charged quickly and easily via an existing USB port.
Both the double stand charging station and the single radio itself have a USB charging port, so you can also charge a single device directly via USB. A USB power supply unit is NOT included in the scope of delivery.
The two 700mAh rechargeable batteries are not state of the art, but are perfectly adequate. Incidentally, you can also use individual micro rechargeable batteries (AAA) and charge them in the device, which many competitor devices cannot do. Unfortunately, there is no charge monitoring and the charging process only takes approx. 3 hours.
The operating time with one battery charge is specified by the manufacturer as 12 hours. There is a battery status indicator on the display (3 levels, flashes when the battery is empty).
The modulation is loud and clear, the achievable range is very good and the reproduction is also of good quality.
The standard double jack connection for a large selection of microphone/earphone sets is of course also available.
So you get an inexpensive PMR446 pair that is suitable for a wide range of applications.
The housing is quite robust for the price range and is normally splash-proof.
