- harmonious inflation behaviour without unintentional launch, thanks to RAST
- extremely good flare behaviour, even in nil wind
- consistent flight characteristics across the entire recommended weight range, thanks to RAST
Bringing passion and joy to something will produce the best results.
The TWIN RS 2 was developed by an experienced team of professional tandem pilots. Their goal was to create a completely reliable piece of equipment for daily use, which can be relied on 100% from launch through to landing.
We have optimised our tried and tested RAST system specifically for the particular demands of tandem flying.
It helps you deal confidently with even challenging situations and gives your passenger a safe and unforgettable flying experience.
And because we believe that work should also be fun, the TWIN RS 2 is equipped with playful and effortless handling, which guarantees good times.

Riser
The riser is one of the links between you and your paraglider. It has been optimised for the TWIN RS 2, to make it easy to use and to ensure good ergonomics.
It has an easy-to-use big ears kit, which can be used to pull down and lock the outer A-lines. To re-open big ears, all you have to do is pull gently and they open up again.
The riser design means that the trimmer runs so smoothly that redirection is not needed. The trim travel of up to 15cm can be reduced in one go, with the T-handle making it comfortable to hold on to the trimmer strap. An elastic cord keeps the T-handle close to the riser when the trimmers are closed.
RAST
The RAST system has proved very successful over the years and now, in the TWIN RS, we have adapted it specifically to the needs of tandem pilots.
The patented bulkhead partition system is in part fitted with additional valves so as to ensure that inflation is as efficient as possible when launching.
Air thus flows into the canopy in a controlled way. The result is very harmonious inflation behaviour. Once airborne, both pilot and passenger have the full benefit of the increased safety and comfortable RAST feeling during flight.
Selection of materials
The materials selected, along with how the paraglider is looked after, play a considerable part in how long it will last.
We have used a combination of a robust top surface with a lightweight under-surface for the canopy of the TWIN RS 2. This ensures it will have good durability but at the same time keeps its weight down.
The line system for the TWIN RS 2 is designed to be easy to use. The sheathed main lines and intermediate lines are easy to sort and inspire confidence in your passenger. The unsheathed aramid top lines are notable for the fact that they do not get caught up.
This makes launch preparations easier.
Reinforced ribs
There is an especially high load on the ribs of a tandem because of its high all-up weight. The Twin RS 2 has additional reinforcements on the ribs, in the main direction of pull, on the line attachment points that are most stressed, in order to transfer the load directly to the top surface. This means that profile accuracy is optimised for the entire life of your TWIN RS 2.
Nitinol leading edge reinforcements
Nitinol is a high-strength, temperature- and corrosion-resistant shape memory alloy. The name Nitinol is an acronym for Nickel Titanium Naval Ordnance Laboratory. This material is well-known in medical technology, and for a long time Swing has been using it as leading edge reinforcement in paraglider design, one of the first paraglider manufacturers to do so.
For the Twin RS 2, the Nitinol reinforcements are inserted into nylon tubes. This meant that the cross-sectional area (and thus the contact area for the top surface material) could be increased without having to forego the positive features of the memory alloy (bend-resistance, length and dimensional stability).
What this means for you:
- The leading edge is more resistant to fraying, should the glider ever go down on its nose during landing.
- a consistent level of tension over its entire lifetime.
- "cell to cell" packing is not necessary.
Mini ribs with internal stitching
Ballooning on the trailing edge has a considerable influence on a paraglider’s control pressure and handling.
That’s why, with the TWIN RS 2, ballooning in this area was reduced to a minimum using 3D shaping, in addition to the tried and tested mini ribs.
The trick here is that the mini ribs have internal stitching on the top surface so that none of the threads can get caught up on the ground and pulled out, even when launching in difficult terrain.
Bottom surface can be used for advertising
We intentionally didn’t put any design on the bottom surface of the Twin RS 2, so that you can use it later if you need to as advertising space for your business, flying school or for sponsors.
